What is ads.txt (and why AdSense cares)?
A clear explanation of ads.txt, where it lives, and how it helps prevent ad fraud.
ads.txt stands for Authorized Digital Sellers. It's a small text file placed at the root of your domain (for example: https://example.com/ads.txt).
Its job is to list who is allowed to sell ads for your site. This helps ad platforms reduce spoofing and invalid inventory.
For Google AdSense, adding the correct line is often recommended to confirm your publisher authorization.
A basic AdSense line looks like:
google.com, pub-0000000000000000, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0
After you upload ads.txt, allow some time for systems to re-crawl it. You can re-check anytime with this tool.
